Latest Updates from Our Project:

A look at the book's interior so far!

Hi Everyone!

Happy new year and sorry for the delay! We wanted to start things off by showing you some of the interior work that our designer Shawn has been working on. Each chapter is broken into smaller "sub-chapters" and those need their own title design so they are distinct from the rest of the text and the chapter heads themselves. Shawn put in a lot of work last month and settled on this design. They just got approved by Evan, so we're off to continue laying out the rest of the book!

Stay tuned for more updates as we get them!

Update to Wraithmarked Support and Update Policies
2 months ago – Wed, Nov 27, 2024 at 06:30:42 AM

Hi everyone!

If we haven't made our formal introduction update on this campaign yet: Hi, I'm Eira, Head of Crowdfunding and Fulfillment over here at Wraithmarked and I'm here with my colleague Heather. Nice to meet y'all (or possibly hello again).

I'm interrupting our regularly scheduled updates to let you know that we're slightly changing how we handle a few things here at Wraithmarked, first and foremost, how we offer and manage support. Second, our update frequency. So let's jump right into it!

Wraithmarked Support

Over the last couple of years, we've been very fortunate to see our audience grow considerably and we've expanded to account for that. We started taking email support requests, brought new people on board to help, and transitioned from an email inbox to a ticketing system. None of it has been perfect, but we've always tried to provide you all with the best support possible.

So here we are again, making a change to hopefully improve your experience as well as ours. At time of writing, there are three primary ways for you to contact us: Kickstarter comments, Kickstarter messages, and our support email. Over the last few months, wrangling all of these different channels has exposed a few inefficiencies that we'd like to address.

Effective immediately, if you need help with something, please send an email to [email protected]. If you send us a Kickstarter message, we're going to reply with a form response asking you to send your request to our support email.

You're of course welcome to comment as you feel you need to and we will reply to your comment as soon as we're able!

Support Hours

If you've never contacted us for any issues, here are a few important things for you to keep in mind. First, we are open 8am - 4pm EST. Second, we are closed on all Federal US holidays. Finally, when you contact us, we will have your request assigned to either Heather or myself AND we'll always do our absolute best to reply to your request within 3-5 business days.

Update Schedule

Over the past couple of years, we've generally held to a firm stance of posting 2 updates on each campaign a month. While in many cases we have plenty to talk about, sometimes— particularly if books are crossing the ocean— there's not much to share. So, going forward, our campaign update policy will be "no less than 1 update a month".  Even though we'll continue in our endeavor to share 2 updates a month with you, there may be months where there is only 1 update.

Thanks so much for your time and your continued support! We'll catch you in the next update!

Some more good news!
3 months ago – Wed, Nov 13, 2024 at 07:16:49 AM

Hi everyone!

Back in September, we posted an update about an issue that was holding up production. We're very excited to be able to share that we've gotten that problem sorted out, and we'll be able to get things rolling again!

As we mentioned previously, this has still been a pretty significant delay, so it's still very likely that the book won't be delivered till after the expected fulfillment date of June, 2025. Still, we're getting to work asap and seeing what we can do to catch up! As we work on that, we'll keep y'all updated!

Some good news regarding cloth binding!
3 months ago – Thu, Oct 31, 2024 at 10:34:44 AM

Hi Everyone!

We have a bit of good news for everyone today! A few months ago we posted an update here and on several other campaigns that cloth printing was not viable. This was based on proof copies we received for our Deluxe Edition of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS by H.G. Wells. As a reminder, here's what those looked like:

Now, in the immediate aftermath of that, we made the call to move everything to paper rather than risk every cloth-covered book turning out like those. And admittedly, we may have been a little overzealous in that decision. 😅

In the months since, as we worked on other parts of each project, our fantastic print coordinator, Dyrk, worked tirelessly to source and test some new potential cloth materials for our covers. And did he come through or what? We wound up testing seven or eight alternatives to what was used on those WAR OF THE WORLDS proofs and found one that we thought performed well for both color and black & white printing. Take a look at our sample below:

The War of the Worlds proof copy in bottom left for reference.

Thank you all for your patience, and so glad we can get the cloth-bound books to you as promised!

A Quick Introduction...
3 months ago – Thu, Oct 17, 2024 at 07:16:59 AM

Hi Everyone!

While we're waiting on the things in our last update to work themselves out, we wanted to take a moment to do a quick intro. While interacting with us here on Kickstarter or via our support email, the majority of the time, you'll be chatting with two people!

Hi! I'm Eira (pronounced like Ira)

I am in charge of coordinating the campaigns and fulfillment for nearly everything Wraithmarked does. I came to Wraithmarked close to 2 years ago after spending more than a decade as your friendly neighborhood IT gal. Most days, I can scarcely believe it's real. But here I am, with all you fine people, eagerly waiting to get my hands on this and every book we make. :)

A couple of quick things about me. I'm a sci-fi/horror author, a published tabletop RPG developer, and sometime musician. When I'm not being a total dork, I collect bumps and bruises by skating with a local roller derby team under the name 'Tryst Issues'.

Hey there! I'm Heather, and I'm Eira's underling at Wraithmarked!

In addition to helping out my benevolent overlor- Eira, I'm also head of the Wildcrown brand! You'll likely talk to me if you send us a support message here on Kickstarter or via email.

Within Wraithmarked and Wildcrown, I'm a bit of a nerd. Outside of Wraithmarked and Wildcrown... also a nerd. I have my own illustration business which allows me to travel to different conventions and meet some truly fantastic con-goers and fellow artists alike! I build Zoids model kits, play too many video games, collect trinkets, and dote on my cats, Soren, Taro, and Edgar.

Not a thought in this little man's head (Edgar)

Okay, back to Wraithmarked...

We bring all this up to let you all know that when you interact with us, you're talking to real people who have been involved with the creative process from start to finish. It's super important that your experience with us is a good one. While we can't promise completely smooth sailing— manufacturing and distribution are tricky businesses— we will do our best to keep y'all informed as the process progresses.

That's all for today! Just wanted to stop by, give y'all a peek behind the curtain, and say hello! Thanks again for supporting what we do here at Wraithmarked!

Cheers, Eira & Heather
